The Role

We are looking for candidates currently enrolled in a MBA or MHA program. Will also consider seniors in their undergraduate program with relevant prior employment experience
Experience/interest in mergers/acquisitions, finance, analysis, healthcare and private equity. Combination of work and educational experience is acceptable.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, varied hours/week, will work with class schedule. This is primarily a remote position. This role will require occasional weekly meetings either in Chicago, Illinois or Bingham Farms, MI depending on the candidate’s geographic location.

The physicians and staff of the Center for Digestive Health specialize in gastroenterology, which covers all aspects of the digestive system. Our specialty includes diagnostic endoscopic procedures and ultrasounds, liver disease studies, reflux diagnosis and management, and motility studies.

Essential Job Duties
Assess patient health problems and needs
Develop and implement nursing care plans, and maintain electronic medical records
Strong patient assessment skills with experience in recovery of post anesthesia patients. Licensing in the State of Michigan required
Organizes work to meet daily patient schedule
Maintains confidentiality of all patient information (complies with HIPAA privacy rules)
Accepts accountability for own practice

Identifies pertinent patient history during admission process

To aid in our rapid growth and continue to differentiate our patient experience, we’re hiring a Medical Assistant. This role will be required travel and perform assigned duties at all current locations and future acquired locations by Pinnacle GI Partners.
The ideal candidate will have a completed all levels of education to have achieved a High School or GED degree. Will have completed a medical training course or a Medical Assistant Program. Will have 1-3 years’ experience in customer service, preferably within a medical setting. The Medical Assistant will report directly to the Clinical Supervisor and demonstrate working within a team and independently in a fast-paced environment.
This role reports to the Clinical Supervisor.
Primary duties and responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Physician and MLP by performing the following duties;
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following but not limited to; other duties may be assigned.
Interviews patients to verify medical and surgical history, medications, and allergies. Measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height, and documents in chart.
Prep charts no later than the day before clinic.
Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. Cleans and restocks exam rooms daily.
Assists Physician with procedure when needed.
Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment.
Hands instruments and materials to doctor as directed.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments.
Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials.
Operates breath test equipment to administer routine diagnostic test. Calibrates equipment and contacts representative if repairs are needed. Checks supplies monthly and reorders if needed.
Administers patient immunizations.
Obtains x-ray, lab tests, and pathology results as needed. Obtains discharge summary, labs, x-ray, procedure notes and pathology for all in patient follow up visits.
Inventories drug samples and contacts reps when stock is low. Checks stock monthly for outdated drugs and discards them.
Obtains medication authorizations as needed Maintains open communication with physicians, MLP’s and triage nurses in order to carry out written orders with accuracy and in a timely manner.
Answers phone messages for prescription refills or sample requests. Reviews chart to verify medication orders. Discusses with physician or triage nurse if no orders on chart. All analgesic requests to be forwarded to Triage nurses. Refer to front office if appointment indicated. Document in patient’s chart.
Phones in prescription requests to pharmacies and documents into patient’s chart, primarily e-scribe.
Prints office schedules for next day
Qualifications
Completion of High School or a GED program
Completion of a Medical program or a Medical Assistant program
Obtained RMA or CMA certification, preferred
Obtain a minimum of 1-3 years customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
Must demonstrate a high competency level with general computer applications and functions
