Chief Executive Officer
James is the Chief Executive Officer for Pinnacle GI Partners. James previously led the US Healthcare Industry Value Creation team at Partners Group, a global private equity firm, where he worked with private healthcare companies to drive M&A, organic growth and operational improvement strategies.
Prior to his role at Pinnacle GI Partners, James was the Division President for Ophthalmology at EyeCare Partners, a private equity-backed PPM, where he was responsible for M&A, growth, and operations comprising 25 Ophthalmology practices and 20 ASCs across 12 states.
James draws from an extensive background in healthcare – middle market private equity, ASC operations at Surgical Care Affiliates / Optum, The Boston Consulting Group strategy consulting, and M&A and post-merger integration across healthcare services, medical devices and pharma.
James received his MD, MBA, and BSE in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
Chief Medical Officer and Managing Partner, Troy Gastro
Dr. Nandi is the Chief Medical Officer of Pinnacle GI Partners and Managing Partner of the Troy Gastroenterology Division. Dr. Nandi works closely with the Pinnacle GI leadership team and leads our physician committees that support our “dyad” business and clinical partnership model. Dr. Nandi is a Director on the Pinnacle GI Partners corporate board of directors.
Dr. Nandi is a practicing gastroenterologist in the Troy Gastroenterology practice where he has a special interest in therapeutic endoscopy and endoscopic ultrasound. Dr. Nandi is American Board of Internal Medicine certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterology Association, and the American Society of Gastroenterological Endoscopy. He performed his undergraduate studies at Ohio State University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He obtained his medical degree at Wayne State University, where he graduated with distinction and completed his Internal Medicine residency at Wayne State University. He completed his fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Nandi also serves on the board of United Physicians and is the Chief Health Editor of WXYZ ABC Detroit.
Managing Partner, Michigan Gastroenterology
Dr. Scott Plaehn is the Managing Partner of Michigan Gastroenterology in Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Plaehn works closely with the Pinnacle GI Partners Leadership team. Dr. Plaehn is a Board Observer on the Pinnacle GI Partners corporate board. Dr. Plaehn is a practicing gastroenterologist in Lansing. He is a medical graduate from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in Illinois. He performed his Internship and Residency at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan an affiliate of Michigan State University. He then went on to Botsford General Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan where he completed his Fellowship in Gastroenterology. Dr. Plaehn is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He has been practicing in the Lansing area since 1996.
Vice President of Operations and Integration
Nicole is the Vice President of Operations and Integration for Pinnacle GI Partners. Nicole joins Pinnacle GI Partners with 30 years progressive healthcare experience, most recently serving as Vice President of Operations for PE GI Solutions with leadership in acquisitions, new center openings and management of ASC operations in the Pennsylvania and Mid-Atlantic Markets.
Prior to that Nicole worked for Prospect Crozer Health System as Senior Administrative Director of GI Service Line where she managed all aspects of both the physician practice and hospital inpatient and outpatient Gastroenterology units.
Nicole holds a BSN as well as an MSN in Leadership and Management. She enjoys the beach, the Philadelphia Eagles and spending her free time with her grandchildren.
Director of Human Resources
Kristie is the Director of Human Resources for Pinnacle GI Partners. Kristie previously served as the Director of Human Resources and Director of Fund Development for a large senior living community. Her strengths are in corporate communication, labor relations, recruiting and retention, performance management, professional development, training/education, and corporate compliance/ethics. Early in her career, Kristie worked in Human Resources for EDS, supporting General Motors in their customer service center for Chevrolet. Kristie enjoys occasional consulting work, providing human resources support for small business owners in her local community. Kristie received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Central Michigan University in Organizational Development and Human Resources.
Kristie resides in White Lake, Michigan; enjoys boating and kayaking on Lake Huron; is an avid reader; and loves to travel. She also enjoys spending time with her husband Robert and her two college-aged children.
Director of Revenue
Mary is the Director of Revenue Cycle for Pinnacle GI Partners, present since its inception in 2020. Mary previously led the Revenue Cycle Team for one of Pinnacle GI Partner’s medical groups, Center for Digestive Health, which includes Troy Gastroenterology, Michigan Infusion Center, Surgical Centers of Michigan, Anesthesia Surgical Centers of Michigan, Macomb Endoscopy Center and Anesthesia Macomb Endoscopy Center. Prior to Center for Digestive Health, Mary managed the revenue cycle teams for several midsized practices in the field of dermatology, physician medicine and rehabilitation, obstetrics and gynecology and internal medicine. Mary was the creator and the lead instructor for a medical billing curriculum at a leading, accredited allied health postsecondary educational institute. Mary holds a Certification for Physician Practice Management from the AAPC. Mary lives in Shelby Twp, MI; enjoys kayaking, hiking and flyfishing with her husband as well as her two sons.
Director of Technology
Kevin Schokora is the Director of Technology for Pinnacle GI Partners. Before his role at Pinnacle GI Partners, Kevin was in IT leadership roles with two private equity-backed organizations in dentistry and veterinary medicine. Kevin has an extensive information technology background and is experienced in aligning technical solutions with business initiatives to achieve higher productivity, enhanced security, and reduced operating expenses.
Kevin holds an MBA in Information Technology, is an advocate of Dale Carnegie Leadership and is Scrum Master certified. He resides in Berkley, Michigan, and enjoys spending time with his family, friends, and two poodles.
